How far along: 19 weeks on 8.18.2014.
Baby is the size of: an orange (8.5 ounces)
Movement: We definitely have movement! Konrad was able to feel Dita move at 17 weeks 2 days. All he had to do was wait with his hand on my stomach for 10 minutes to feel a distinct “rolling.” These days Dita is full on kicking especially when I play her a special playlist I made for her on Spotify. I’m feeling: Yup… still feeling good. Let’s hope this continues all the way through Dita’s birth!
Exercise: What’s that? Does housework count? Because I’ve been doing a lot of that!
Sleep: My wake schedule has been very interesting. Some days I’m up at 3:30 am and other days I can sleep till 8:00 am. I’ve decided to start getting out of bed if I wake up and can’t get right back to sleep.
Baby preparations: We are in full prep mode! Last weekend we did a huge cooking day using Once a Month Meals. Basically we spent one afternoon at the grocery store, then 6 hours the next day chopping veggies and browning meat, and finally a full third day (plus a few more hours) cooking and freezing meals. Our chest freezer now has 30 meals that serve 4 people each which basically means we have 60 meals for the two of us. We plan on doing a big cooking day every couple of weeks until the freezer is full so that I will have plenty of ready to go meals once Dita is born and I won’t have to worry much about cooking for a while.
We also ordered a nursery set. Friends and family have said to wait until after my baby shower to buy anything, but with Konrad’s work schedule we wanted to order it early so he could assemble it while he was here so that I could set up everything else in the nursery while he is at work.
Other exciting things: We’re slowly getting the house put together! We received the ottoman we ordered for the living room, and ended up having to order a new bed frame! Turns out we had a California king frame and an eastern king mattress this whole time and never knew it! We found out when our new mattress and base wouldn’t fit into the old bed frame. Thank goodness for Overstock.com and coupons! We also purchased an automatic sprinkler set that Konrad will install next weekend and I cannot tell you how excited I am for that. It really is the little things. 🙂
